Bikes on CATS Buses and LYNX Train for FREE
The Charlotte Area Transportation System is allowing anyone traveling with a bicycle on CATS Buses and the LYNX Train for free, May 5 - May 11, during BIKE! Charlotte. Using the bicycle, in combination with a CATS Bus or the LYNX Train, is an efficient, inexpensive, and environmentally friendly way to travel in the Queen City. Kids Bicycle Safety and Educational Rodeo p/b Piedmont Natural Gas
The Giordana-Clif Bar-BRICA Cycling Team is partnering with Queen City Bicycles and Piedmont Natural Gas to host an exciting Kids Bicycle Safety Rodeo. Kids Bicycle Safety Rodeos are designed to educate children of all ages about bicycle safety. Bikes for children ages 7 to 12 are provided at the event. A limited supply of FREE helmets will be given to kids who participate in the rodeos.

BikeLine of Charlotte Mountain Bike Ride @ Sherman Branch
Bike Line of Charlotte will lead a mountain bike ride at Sherman Branch Park in southeastern Mecklenburg County. The park has 10.6 miles of single track mountain bike trails . The main trail is 6.5 miles, and 2 optional loops add an additional 4.1 miles. This is an intermediate trail system with log rolls, gravity dips, bridges, rock gardens, and 600+ ft of climbing. Some of the best mountain bike trails in the Charlotte area!
Location: Sherman Branch Park (GPS address: 3824 Camp Stewart Rd. Charlotte, NC 28269). Park entrance and parking is on the left off of Lower Rocky River Church Road approximately 200 yards north of the intersection with Camp Stewart Road.

Bike to DC 2013
Bike to DC 2013 will be rolling out of Charlotte at 9:00AM Thursday morning, May 9th. We welcome bike ride participants to join us for the first section from CMPD headquaters to Harrisburg, fully escorted for all 13 miles. From there 100 law enforcement cyclists and support will continue on their four day, 500 mile ride to Washington DC to honor law enforcement officers who have fallen in the line of duty.
