Bikes on CATS Buses and LYNX Train for FREE

The Charlotte Area Transportation System is allowing anyone traveling with a bicycle on CATS Buses and the LYNX Train for free, April 29 - May 5, during BIKE! Charlotte. Using the bicycle, in combination with a CATS Bus or the LYNX Train, is an efficient, inexpensive, and environmentally friendly way to travel in the Queen City. 2nd Annual Can You Dig It, Charlotte Community Garden Tour

The garden tour, hosted by the Mecklenburg County Fruit & Vegetable Coalition, kicks off at Atherton Mill and Market. The tour includes the following gardens: Wilmore, Country Club Heights, and Central United Methodist. Tour participants will learn basic gardening skills and see live demos. We end at Winterfield Garden where you can purchase lunch from food trucks andhear keynote speaker, Henry Owen with Friendship Gardens. Please see our website for garden locations, suggested routes and a cycling route for those interested in a guided tour from one garden to the next.

Bike to the 5k for Clean Air Run & Walk

Clean Air Carolina is encouraging event participants to bike, not dirve, over and participate in a run that benefits clean air education and advocacy programs.  They are promoting alternative means of transportation, which do not negatively influence air quality, to the race and will provide bike racks and secured bike parking. The American Lung Association named Charlotte as the 10th most smoggiestcity for the second year in a row, so it's very important to join the community in raising awareness of this major issue!

Taste & Cycle

Charlotte NC Tours will guide you by bicyclce around the lively downtown streets of Charlotte and stop at some of the City's favorite eateries to taste the local cuisine! The fee covers the cost of the guide and tastings.

Tarheel Trailblazers Ride & Cookout

Mountain bikers of all abilities are invited to come join the Tarheel Trailblazers at Col Francis Beatty Park for a ride and cookout!  Enjoy a ride on the 6 mile, beginner friendly trail and plan to stay afterwards to hang out andeat with other fellow mountain bikers.  The Trailblazers will be leading rides of all levels throughout the four hours and a grilled lunch will be provided (while quantities last) courtesy of the Tarheel Trailblazers.  Feel free to bring a friend and don't forget a chair to sit in and enjoy your food! TrySports Bike Workshop

Come join us at TrySports on Saturday, May 5th from 11-2pm for a drop-in workshop on basic upkeep, maintenance, and repairs for your bike.  This is a great opportunity for everyone, from commuters to racers, to parents!  Our bike specialist will be on-hand to help you with your questions and will show you how to inspect your bike, helmets and other gear for safety.  This is a first-come, first serve drop-in; we look forward to seeing you there!
