Bikes on CATS Buses and LYNX Train for FREE

The Charlotte Area Transportation System is allowing anyone traveling with a bicycle on CATS Buses and the LYNX Train for free, April 29 - May 5, during BIKE! Charlotte. Using the bicycle, in combination with a CATS Bus or the LYNX Train, is an efficient, inexpensive, and environmentally friendly way to travel in the Queen City. Tour de Trees

Come and enjoy a casually guided ride through the Historic areas of Charlotte and learn about Champion and other unusual trees in the inner City. Space is limited for the 1.5 - 2 hour tour; reservations required. Please RSVP with Patrick George. Must be 13 or older and accompanied by an adult.

 

Location: Heartwood Tree Service (4920 Old Pineville)
Time: 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Who Participates: Adults and Children 13+

The BAC Streets Tour

Experience one of Charlotte's newest bike routes, as you wind your way along quiet neighborhood streets. The route is approximately 8 miles long and will be enjoyed at a leisurely pace. This ride is sponsored by the City's Bicycle Advisory Committee and will provide the opportunity to tour the Recyclery, a local organization dedicated to restoring and remarketing old bicycles.

: The Recyclery (512 E. 15th Street, Charlotte, on the corner of E. 15th and N. Davidson Street)
Time: 2:00 PM (Will be held rain or shine!)
Who Participates: Adults and supervised children. Each rider must bring his/her own bicycle and helmet.
